Soy MP Caleb Kositany has spoken on why Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja had to ditch the then party Amani National Congress (ANC) for United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Speaking to K24's This Morning, the vocal MP said that they carried out an opinion poll in Nairobi County on which party was the most popular and most of the respondents chose UDA.
He further added that Sakaja had to ditch ANC for UDA to increase his chances of winning an elective seat in the city. He also noted that it was the same opinion polls that made them settle for Sakaja and made Bishop Margaret Wanjiru vie for the senatorial seat.
“Consensus is built based on the geographical location and based on the local dynamics within the area... We as Kenya Kwanza did an opinion poll and we found out that the most popular party in Nairobi was UDA,” he said as quoted by the media house.
