Raila Odinga Addressing Residents of Nanyuki Town.
The former prime minister, Raila Odinga, spent his Sunday in Laikipia county where he met with various groups. He started his day by meeting a group of youth leaders drawn from the county in one of the hotels in Nanyuki town.
Odinga together with his ODM battalion proceeded to Nanyuki PCEA church for the Sunday service. Afterwards, the leaders held a mega rally in Nanyuki town where hundreds of people turned out to welcome the leaders.
However, there was a bit of drama when Odinga was giving out his speech to the already charged crowd in the town. A section of young people responded to Raila with pro Ruto Chants.
According to a viral video, group of youth can be heard chanting Ruto's name. Others can be heard telling the former prime minister that Nanyuki is behind William Ruto and UDA. Click here to watch video.
This is not the first time such a scenario is happening. Whenever the campaign season knocks, cases of leaders being humiliated are common especially when a politician tours a rival's stronghold.
Laikipia which forms part of the Mt Kenya region is believed to be majorly behind the presidency of William Ruto in 2022. However, the dynamics in politics cannot be ignored as things can change within a short period of time.
Raila Odinga was accompanied by a group of vocal politicians mainly from ODM party. Laikipia governor, Nderitu Muriithi, and EALA MP Mpuru Amburi were also present.
