Former chief justice David Maraga is amongst the top officials who have held higher positions of power who bagged some appointments in the Kenya Kwanza administration.President Ruto chose him to be the head of the National Taskforce on Improvement of Terms and Conditions of Service and other Reforms for Members of NPS and Prison service.

David Maraga was accompanied by his deputy Carole Kariuki when he paid Inspector General Japhet Koome a courtesy call at his office.
Maraga and the Inspector General agreed to have a mutual cooperation that will facilitate in their smooth working in the course of their duties.
"The two leaders agreed on the support and mutual cooperation expected from both sides to facilitate in the collection of views from NPS Officers on the ground," the statement from NPS read.

Other leaders who were present included the DIG KPS, Mr. Edward Mbugua, DIG APS, Mr. Noor Gabow, Director DCI Mr. Mohamed Amin and the Principal Assistant to the IG, Mr. Abdallah Komesha.
