National leaders across the country are making intensive tours in Mount Kenya region in a bid to woe the region's votes. Various presidential candidates have toured the region to popularize their bids led by deputy president William Ruto and ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi.
Today Kirinyanga leaders snubbed the governor Anne Waiguru meeting with Wiper leaders led by their party leader Kalonzo Musyoka. The consultative meeting was held at the governor official residence at Kagio in Kirinyanga county. No leader from the county attended the consultative meeting.
Governor Anne Waiguru has been facing stiff resistance from senior government officials led by interior principal secretary Dr. Karanja Kibicho. The vocal governor has openly said that senior government officials are fighting her using corruption allegations.
The wiper party leader is accompanied by various leaders allied to Wiper party. Leaders present includes Makueni senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior, Kitui senator Enock Wambua, Machakos senator Agnes Kavindu, Former KMTC chairman Philip Kaloki among other elected leaders from Ukambani region.
