UDA party supporters led my the Senator for Meru Mithika Linturi have promised jubilee party a befitting humiliation in the Kiagu ward by-election. Already it's clear most local MP's from the larger Meru County have joined UDA and are fighting very hard to ensure they capture the Kiagu ward seat.
The supporters of DP Ruto have taken the advantage of the divisions in jubilee party between Kieleweke and the secretary general Raphael Tuju. They are already on the ground fighting hard to popularize the weight and might of UDA ahead of 2022.
Something that works to the advantage of UDA is the fact that jubilee does not have strong foot soldiers in Meru County. Already it's clear politics being local, UDA has a better advantage to capture the seat over the ruling jubilee. What might happen is that UDA might win the seat by landslide and badly embarrass the ruling party as completely unpopular and out of touch with the issues affecting the people.
Another factor that mean jubilee party was not prepared is the fact that they have not stepped in Kiagu Ward for campaigns unlike in Kiambaa where they staged an onslaught against UDA but also lost it unfortunately. The Kiagu ward by-election is proving a litmus test on who exactly holds the grip of Mt Kenya moving into the 2022 general election.
