Ndaragwa Member of Parliament has stated that Mt Kenya as a region and community now considers their interests as their priority in the coming general elections slated for August 9th 2022.
The Kieleweke legislator who is a staunch supporter of President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee administration claims they will not engage in discussing positions before the regional interests are discussed.
"Our Community interest must come first before any positions can be discussed." stated Ndaragwa Legislator in a facebook post.
The populous Mt Kenya with approximately eight million voters has become a battleground for presidential hopefuls. Over 35 political parties have pitched camp in the region wooing members ahead of next year's General Election, even as political temperatures rise amid heightened strategy meetings.
Recently a caucus of leaders led by Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua, Moses Kuria, William Kabogo and Mwangi Kiunjuri has been pushing for the unity of the vast region convening crucial meetings of politicians to firm up the region's agenda and interests ahead of the 2022 polls.
The caucus plans to unite all political parties from Mt Kenya region under a single alliance to ensure structured engagements between Mt Kenya and presidential candidates.
