Speaking to the media today, the Independent electoral and boundaries commission chairperson Wafula Chebukati has already hit out at critics. This comes as the war of words in politics world intensifies ahead of the August general elections.
Complains by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya squad that Kenya Kwanza are planning to rig elections has sparked Chebukati's reactions. This is after Azimio la Umoja supporters also claimed that he is not worthy to chair this electoral commission.
Chebukati on media didn't hesitate to take a swing at these leaders sending them a tough message ahead of this polls. Chebukati attacked the critics saying the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission is not directed by any individual be it a politian but they are only answerable to the Kenya constitution.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, 7th of July, Chebukati confirmed this not only to politicians but Kenyans at large. "I want to confirm that IEBC is an independent institution. We are not directed by any individual, constitution or authority; we are answerable only to the constitution." He said.
