Over the past few days on National Television while doing his campaigns across the country, Deputy President William Ruto had alleged that his life might have been in danger.
In a rally, Deputy President William Ruto also asked the President not to kill his children, something which was interpreted in different ways by the media and the supporters of both sides or the political divide.
This afternoon, the President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, has responded to the remarks while addressing the public at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport as per the reports that we have.
The President has asked the Deputy President to stop telling people that he wants to kill him as this is not true and that he has no business with him whatsoever.
Here is the statement by President Uhuru Kenyatta, "You have been insulting me for the past 3 years, has anyone ever touched you? I was in office for those 3 years and I did have the capability? Now that I want to hand over the government to another and I have limited powers, do you think I have thee time to look for you?
Everyone, including me, has the right to campaign for whoever they choose. There is no reason for these insults and I answer you because you have lied to Kenyans. There is no reason to tell people that I want to kill you."
