Mwangi Kiunjuri Sends Another Warning To Mt Kenya Leaders, Explains What Will Happen After Elections

The Service Party leader Mwangi Kiunjuri has once again send a warning to Mt Kenya region leaders. Speaking in Kangema as reported by TV 47, he has told the leaders that they should refrain from folding their political parties to join bigger parties. He said;

"After the August 9 General Election, we shall be having change in leadership and this time the instruments of power shall be handed over to someone who is not a native in this area and we need to be prepared how to negotiate for our interests. We should not abolish parties. We should be free to support any party and people of integrity.”

The former agriculture cabinet secretary also added that in 2017, they were told to fold their parties and join Jubilee. When things went sour, some of them got stranded but those who had big parties had somewhere to run to. That there is no big political party that will win one hundred members of parliament and therefore they will need other parties to support them.

That with their small parties, they will have the powers to bargain for something especially for Mt Kenya region. For now, the parties are free to support any sobber coalition. That the power will soon be away from the region.

Kiunjuri is seeking the Laikipia East constituency parliamentary seat. He decried the zoning in Kenya Kwanza and said that they do not have a chance as small parties. He is also optimistic that one day, he will be the president of the country. That a parliamentary seat is not degrading. He can wait and be elected at an old age just like the former president Mwai Kibaki.
