President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to visit Ukambani region on 6th and 7th July. He will inspect various projects in the region and commission complete projects. Local leaders and local residents are eargely waiting for the president tour.
Today the three Ukambani governors met to deliberate on the presidential tour. The governors were hosted by Makueni governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana in Wote. Machakos governor Alfred Mutua and Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu were present. The leaders are set to discuss on various issues affecting the region.
The leaders also checked on Makueni governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana who underwent a successful surgery. The two governors wished him all the best in his recovery. The leaders will also discuss on SEKEB organization which brings together the three Ukambani counties.
Today's meeting comes weeks after president Uhuru Kenyatta hosted all Ukambani leaders in State House. The leaders were led by Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos governor Alfred Mutua and Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu. Various elected leaders and professionals from the region attended the meeting.
