"I thank Hon Dr Oburu Odinga who worked in Kakamega as the western provisional officer for appreciating the work I have done in Kakamega since taking over as the first Governor of this great county.
I want to assure politicians who are eyeing the ODM ticket that the party will hold free and fair nominations. I will personally sacrifice my time to ensure that party's primaries will be free and fair." Oparanya has said after his meeting with Odinga.
On his side Dr. oburu has said, "This evening had a talk with Kakamega Governor Oparanya in his office."
The meeting between the two has elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans whom most have roasted Raila Odinga brother, Oburu.
This comes as the Kakamega Governor recently said that he is willing to shelve his 2022 presidential ambition if ODM leader Raila Odinga decides to vie as he looks forward to face stiff competition from DP Ruto who has since drummed up support from across the country in the recent months.
Earlier this year, Oparanya and his fellow ODM deputy leader Hassan Joho submitted their applications for nomination to fly the party's flag in the next general elections.
The party is yet to choose its presidential candidate in 2022 unlike its main rival UDA which is seen as Ruto's political vehicle ahead of the elections.
