Ezra Simuyu Chiloba was on Tuesday declared the new Director General of the Communications Authority of Kenya following a competitive selection process which had been conducted in order to arrive at a suitable replacement to replace Francis Wangusi who left the position vacant .

The latter assumes offices at a time when the country is headed for a transition poll which is due to be held in August 2022. According to Daily Nation, Ezra has an uphill task alongside 2 other ex-IEBC Commissioners in ensuring that 2022 general elections becomes a success. The two are Immaculate Kassait and Ann Nderitu who serve as data commissioner and registrar of political parties respectively.
Ezra Chiloba's role will be basically to oversee that there is full network coverage of either 3G or 4G across all poling stations in the country. This will ensure that elections results get transmitted to the tallying centres without any difficulty.
Immaculate Kassait's role is to ensure that all data regarding the electioneering process are well safeguarded.

Ann Nderitu serves as the registrar of political parties.She will have a major role in overseeing pacts which are due to be made by various political parties ahead of and in 2022.
