It is a sigh of relief for Members of Parliament without degree as the High Court reportedly declares "null and void" the section of Elections Act which, according to K47TV, requires MPs to have a degree.

The report say the High Court cited lack of public participation as the main reason for its rejection.

The High court had in February 2022 ordered Independent Electoral Board Commission IEBC to clear MPs aspirants for election even if they do not possess degree certificates as long as they meet other recqured qualifications.

Justice Antony Mrima, the reports says, noted that the order was conditional subject to the outcome of the main petition.
