“Friday Ikianza Leo Kuna Shida” Citizens Reactions After President Uhuru Lifts Curfew

It is now one and half years since the first coronavirus case was announced in the country by the president. Safety measures were put in place immediately to curb the spread of the virus in the country. All outside flights were stopped, no churches nor gatherings were allowed.

The country came to a standstill when president implemented total lockdown, curfew and all schools were closed. This was to minimize the spread of the virus. As days went on citizens pleaded with the government where some measures such as lockdown were lifted. Unfortunately, the night curfew remained in place where it has ended many people in police cells.

Today as the country celebrated the 58th Mashujaa ceremony, citizens were eager to hear the president's speech about curfew. By good luck the president has lifted the night curfew which will be effective from today.

Citizens after getting the news have made their comments with some congratulating him while others are saying how they will be celebrating over the night without fear of being arrested by the police.
