Uhuru Told What's Coming, Who Mudavadi, Kalonzo Will Support in 2022 as Revenge

President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga should stop pleading with the OKA coalition leadership to support the former Premier's presidential bid, political analyst Collins Ajuok says.

Uhuru has reportedly been trying to rally the four politicians behind Raila, whose 2022 presidential bid his reported to be in support of, with everything suggesting that he has failed to convince them.

But the commentator observes that it would be better if Uhuru and Raila left the leaders alone, excluding KANU leader Gideon Moi, who appears ready to play ball and work with the former Prime Minister.

He opines that they are no longer politically beneficial and are also unable to win the presidency despite their threats to vie, advising the President not to stomach any of the demands they are making.

The commentator suggests that the three; Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka should be left on their own if unwilling to play ball, and replaced with other leaders from their regions.

"I submit that the President and his preferred successor should descend on Ukambani and Luhyaland and create new co-principals in the shape of governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega) and senior party officials like Sifuna, whose own talents are enough to neutralize the influences of Kalonzo and Mudavadi," he says in an article in The Star.

He opines that if this happens, the worst Mudavadi and Kalonzo, as Wetangula is too weak to be included in this list, can do is to run in the opposite direction towards Deputy President William Ruto.

There, he observes, they will seek the running mate post to get back at Raila and Uhuru, attempts that will most likely fail as the DP is most likely keeping the position as bait to capture the Mt Kenya vote.

"The President and his brother Raila don’t know it yet, but if they dump Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Mudavadi, the best recourse for them would be to run over to DP Ruto and seek the running mate slot. And if they got it, the move would throw a spin on Ruto’s own promises to the Mt Kenya vote bloc," he adds.

Among the four OKA principals, only one has officiated his presidential bid; Moi, even as the remaining three also maintain that they will and must vie. They have ruled out supporting Raila again.
