Early Confusion at IEBC as Mombasa Ballot Papers Discovered In a Different County

As Kenyans get ready for tomorrow's, August 9, 2022, elections to choose new leaders, the IEBC is finalizing its preparations for a smooth process.

Monday, August 8th, 2022 IEBC officials and vehicles were observed arriving at a variety of polling locations with the necessary paperwork and equipment for tomorrow's exercise.

The election board has assured Kenyans of a smooth voting process and urged registered Kenyan voters to feel free to carry out their civic duty.

However, despite the assurance from the electoral body, there was a significant error in Mombasa County after a handful of ballot papers intended for Kilifi County were discovered there.

The mix-up was only realized when IEBC officials started the process of positioning the ballot papers in accordance with the purported format. The officials noticed that the candidates' names and photos weren't from Mombasa County.

The mix-up has since delayed the process in both counties as IEBC finds a quick solution to the error.
