MP Didmus Barasa Cautions Government Against Fighting Mudavadi, Wetangula

On Sunday, Amani National Congress leader Hon Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi unveiled his presidential bid at Bomas of Kenya.

On the material day Wiper and Kanu leaders Kalonzo Musyoka and Gideon Moi walked out of the auditorium on sensing Deputy President William Ruto will attend. That is their right.

Many leaders have unveiled their bids to be presidents. However, none of those have attracted interest like the one of Hon Mudavadi.

There has been a flurry of activities and non stop conversation following Hon Mudavadi's decision.

This squarely points to the fact that Hon Mudavadi is a very strong candidate that is why his decision is causing ripples everywhere to an extent that some of our colleagues have been given money to attack and besmirch the character of Hon Mudavadi.

Indeed, even today you are aware some Luhyia leaders are meeting somewhere in Nairobi to discuss Mudavadi’s decision to work with the Deputy President and the Hustler Nation.

The criticism Hon Mudavadi has received is really fear and jealousy because some people always thought he was at their bet and call.

But beyond that, they are aware that the union of Hon Mudavadi, Dr Ruto and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula was formidable and had totally locked out and spelt doom for their presidential bids.

We have witnessed some Luhyia leaders being sponsored to form briefcase parties in order to weaken Mudavadi and Wetangula. Money is also being used to lure some MPs from western kenya to disown the two leaders. We are aware some have asked upto Ksh 20 million to decamp and attack our leaders.

In fact on Saturday, a governor who has missapropriated county cash is defecting to that thing called Azimio, which is just ODM in different colors.

Democracy is having the right to choose. Hon Mudavadi has a right to choose his friends and he has chosen wisely.

Hon Musyoka invited ODM leader Raila Odinga to the Wiper NDC and no one walked out because we respected that it was his event and he had a right to invite whoever he wanted.
