The Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) draft bill is a report that is seeking to amend the new constitution of 2010 through a referendum. BBI is a product of the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Odm leader Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga who mutually burried their political differences in 2018 for the betterment of the country.
The BBI bill has been table in the two houses the National and Senate Assemblies for debating and once the bill is passed, the Kenyans will be subjected to a referendum to vote yes or no for the draft bill.
Odm minority whip in the National Assembly Hon. Junet Mohammed, has disclosed that the referendum will be held in the month of July this year. Junet is one of the BBI draft bill task force that is pushing for the amendment of the new constitution of 2010.
In conclusion, COTU Secretary General Dr. Francis Atwoli hosted top government lawmakers and politicians at his Ildamat home in Kajiado County. The hosted members included Junet Mohammed, Peter Kenneth, David Murathe, Raphael Tuju and James Orengo to discuss 2022 polls.
