Earlier today, Orange Democratic Movement supporter and MP for Westlands seat Timothy Wanyoyi organized a sizable protest against the surge in incidences of land grabbing there. In the party that also advocates for people with disabilities, he is one of the more outspoken leaders.
The Member of Parliament reportedly stated that land speculators have left many people without a place to live as they target residential lands in a video released by the Standard digital on twitter. He used the example of an Indian-origin Kenyan woman who was made homeless in Westlands when a company that generated allegedly bogus documentation razed her home, which had been there for over 20 years.
Enough is enough posters and tree twigs were carried by the protesters to draw attention to their need for action.
