President Kenyatta meet with leaders allied to his ruling Jubilee party. The leaders gathered in the state house to discuss the way forward on how to rejuvenate the dying jubilee party and to formulate the way on how to counter the deputy president William Ruto who has been intruding Mount Kenya region which is the president's political stronghold.
Sources from the meeting also indicates that, the president asked the legislators to drop their call of oustering the Jubilee party Secretary General Raphael Tuju and the party vice-chairman David Murathe from the party positions.
In an interview with some Kieleweke leaders who attended the meeting with the president, they claimed that the president discussed with them on the best ways of revamping the jubilee party from their respective constituencies or the grassroots.
The leaders have also raised questions about the candidature of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader in the coming general elections. Many leaders were very worried if Raila Odinga is given the Jubilee-ODM ticket which is usually very hard to popularise him in the Mt Kenya region.
However, jubilee vice-chairman David Murathe in another interview said, there is no problem with Raila Odinga going for the ticket because they are the one who usually demonizes him in the region and they are now the ones who can popularize him again.
All these steps are just taken to counter the Deputy President who has taken the region with a bang ahead of the next electrons.
The legislators were have been given 2 weeks to go and look for the bests ways of rejuvenating the dying jubilee party and to report to the president on the progress they would have made in the 2 weeks.
Do you think the rejuvenation of the jubilee party will bare DP Ruto a chance of reaching state house in 2022 or they are just last kicks of a dying party?
