A section of angry Kenyans have blasted Siaya County Governor Cornel Rasanga after the top ODM politician made claims that he shall be vying for Member of Parliament seat in the upcoming 2022 general elections.
According to the ODM Governor, he shall be vying for the Alego-Usonga parliamentary seat on ODM ticket. Cornel Rasanga made these allegations during a delegate meeting where he addressed several top leaders within the county. Rasanga has been Siaya County Governor since 2013, he is set to complete his term in 2022.
The Governor's remarks have been met by outrage from a section of Kenyans who feel the governor is being self-centred. Rasanga however has maintained his stance as he is set to join the Legislature in 2022. He further reiterated that he is too young to retire from politics and furthermore has a sharp brain. This comes just days after a group of people stormed the governor's office as they made allegations on corruption and misappropriation of funds within the county.
