The government has began distributing the huduma number to the citizens today. Huduma number is an electronic digitized card that is aimed at helping the citizens get government services easily. The government initiated the process in 2018 where the citizens were requested to register for the huduma number.
Last year, the government said it had finalized on the process of producing those cards that citizens had applied for .During the building bridges initiative in Kisii, the president gave the number to about ten people to prove that the government had finalized digitizing the citizens data on a single card. The rest of the people were requested to wait for the notification from the government on where they will access their cards.
Today, the government has disbursed around 17 batches to the different subcounties in Nairobi county. This means the residents.of Nairobi will access their huduma number from their subcounty Offices. The other Kenyans will be notified on where they will get the card soon.
