Former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga has disclosed that he spoke over the phone with Mr. Antonio Gutterees, Secretary-General of the United Nations. In their phone call, he was informed to ensure that the constitutional democracy holds.

He later recalled that he briefed the foreign envoy on the situation in the nation and informed Jim about the case they had filed with the Supreme Court during the phone call. Raila had a call with Antonio anticipated to strengthen and assure him of what to expect from the seven supreme court judges.

"In a press conference, Raila said, "I assured Mr. Guterres (UN Secretary-General) that Kenya's democracy must develop and that we are committed to using legal and constitutional measures to settle our differences." Said Raila Odinga. Raila is certain that the supreme court will have a fair ruling on the presidential election petition. The supreme court will have a final declaration on 5 September.
