"Ruto Cannot be Trusted With Devolution" Joho Claim as Raila Gets Massive Support From Governors

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has claimed that Deputy President William Ruto cannot be trusted with Devolution, and thus he should not be voted for as the fifth president in the August elections.

Addressing the media on Monday after attending a meeting in Naivasha alongside other governors convened by ODM leader Raila Odinga, Joho said that the only person who has show interest in safeguarding devolution is the former Prime Minister, and therefore Kenyans should unite with them and support him.

"We have heard that one of Ruto's plans is to oppose devolution, that is the main reason we have come here as governors, in order to assure Kenyans that devolution is here to stay. Any Kenyans who has seen what devolution has achieved will give their votes to Raila," said Joho.

The alleged 30 governors drummed their support for Raila's presidential bid, adding that they will rally their supporters to back up the Azimio La Umoja.

Speaking during the presser, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana said it is beyond any reasonable doubt that Raila has fought for devolution, saying that he had abandoned his presidential bid to support Raila.
