Uhuru Praises The Pandora Papers And Promises Kenyans To Respond After state visit To America.

The Pandora papers on documents leaked by the International Consortium of Investigation(ICIJ) exposed the offshore dealings of world leaders like presidents, prime ministers, kings, etc.

The pandora papers had been released on Sunday and uncovered more than 330 politicians and public officers who had hidden their wealth and financial secrets offshore.

The list of the people who were linked with those dirty actions included the Kenyatta family and other world leaders. The expose of pandora papers has drawn the attention of Uhuru Kenyatta, which made him praise the actions of the International Consortium of Investigation Journal (ICIJ). He said that those reports will go a long way in enhancing the financial transparency and openness that we require in Kenya and all over the world.

Kenyatta added that the pandora papers and subsequent follow-up audit will lift the veil of secrecy and darkness for those who cannot explain their asset or wealth.

He finally promised Kenyans that, he will respond openly on his return from a state visit to America why he appeared on those lists. This response came after many Kenyans had asked the president to talk about his appearance on the Pandora Papers list.

The Pandora Papers are the latest release by ICIJ financial documents, after the LuxLeak in 2014 and the Panama Papers in 2016. In its report, the ICIJ said that the names of people who appeared on those lists don't mean they illegally acquired the wealth, and therefore some of them may not be thieves or might not have participated in the fraud.
