Silvance Osele, a Kabondo Kasipul MP, was the country's youngest legislator in the 11th Parliament. When he was elected in the general election of 2013, he was only 26 years old.
Osele was first considered as part of a new generation of leaders that the region sorely needed. However, as time passes, Osele finds himself in a difficult situation. As things stand, his political future in Kabondo Kasipul is in the hands of the voters who voted him out in 2017.
Osele, who was accused along with others of attempting to destabilize ODM leader Raila Odinga in Nyanza, had a tough time in 2017 when Eve Obara had an easy ride in the Kabondo Kasipul MP contest.
President Uhuru Kenyatta came to his rescue in 2018 when he was appointed as director of the Presidential Delivery Unit, saving him from political oblivion.
But, amid a wave of resignations in the public service, Osele is one of those who has left to pursue a career in politics.
Osele, who is a member of the United Green Movement and acts as the party's director of elections, is keen to reclaim the Kabondo Kasipul seat by sending Obara home.
