What President Uhuru's Lawyers Say About BBI In Court Today

President Uhuru Kenyatta lawyers have argued on the Court of Appeal judgement whether the president can initiate changes to the Constitution.

Lawyer Kiragu Kimani today questioned whether the proceedings were fair and if the law was applied correctly.

"What the Court of Appeal determined in saying the president cannot initiate amendments by popular initiative is that the people can delegate sovereign powers to those they elect, including the President. But the ones they donate power to have no business initiating change through a popular initiative," Lawyer Kimani told the Supreme Court.

Lawyers representing Uhuru are Gatonye Waweru, Kimani Kiragu and Mohamed Nyaoga. Uhuru chose the best lawyers and as per their strategy, they can easily win their case.

President said during Jamhuri day that BBI was a dream deferred and that one day it will come true.

Following the president remarks, BBI might pass. The Bill major aspect is to create positions for the politicians and Counties being allocated funds based on one man one shilling formula.
