Winnie Odinga, daughter of ODM Leader Raila Odinga, was noticeably absent when President William Ruto greeted the incoming EALA MPs.

Following their election last month, Ruto met with the MPs at State House Nairobi. All of the EALA Mps-elect were present with the exception of Winnie according to photos supplied by State House Kenya.
All EALA MPs elected from the Kenya Kwanza side were present. They include; Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar, former nominated MP David Sankok, former Nandi Woman Rep Zipporah Kering, Youth Leader Mwangi Maina, and Iman Falhada.

The President requested that they concentrate on commerce and investment in the area during the State House discussion.
Suna East Member of Parliament Hon. Junet Mohamed has revealed the reason why Winnie Odinga was absent during the meeting. On his official Twitter page, Junet Mohamed said that Winnie Odinga was absent because she is preparing for Kamkunji meeting.
"She is preparing for the kamkunji meeting." He said.
