With very few days remaining ahead of the general elections, political temperatures have continued increasing in different parts of the country as different political aspirants invent new tactics in search of votes. The politicians have moved from being called the 'Very Important People' to being called normal people just like other citizens i.e. some have been seen assisting casual labours to do their chores.
Kanini Kega the MP for Kieni Constituency has today been captured digging a grave in Mahiga, Kieni West something that is not normal for many politicians during their first years in office. Kega then joined the women to peel off peas as he chatted with them.
Another dramatic scene is that shared by Cornelius Kipchumba on his twitter handle showing the Governor of Tharaka Nithi Kithure Kindiki landing with a chopper to help build mud classes in his village school. This astonished many since these politicians are the people who should be building good classes for their residents. Building or launching a mad class portrays lack of 'True leadership.'
Other politicians like the DP William Ruto have for several times been captured while engaging the small-scale traders as he bought their products i.e. vegetables, fruits, roasted maize etc.

From the photo shared by Honorable Peter Tong'i Ombati on his Facebook account yesterday, the aspiring Senator of Uasian Gishu county who is the current Governor of Uasian Gishu County was captured winnowing beans.
Also, the Kimilili MP Didmus Baraza surprised many after he was captured roofing a house.
Though all these tactics are efforts to eye-block and confuse the voters, true leadership should be portrayed from the first day of taking oath to the last day of being in office.
