Good News To All Job Seekers As MPs Approve Bill Barring Employers From Seeking CRB, Helb Clearance

The members of Parliament have approved a bill that bars employers from seeking CRB, Helb and Good Conduct clearances from interested job seekers.

The bill sponsored by nominated mp Gideon Keter now awaits presidential approval.

The bill seeks to ensure that only those candidates who meet employers' criteria for signing employment contract should be asked to provide those clearance certificates.

This means that only employable job seekers would be asked the documents after interviews are done.

The move is good news to all job seekers as this will cut costs estimated at Ksh 5000. Some the documents are renewed yearly and thus job seekers have been struggling to get them with every job application.

According to the bill, most job seekers are youths between the age of 20 and 35 who might have not had any source income or worse still just fresh from school.

If the president ascent to the bill, it will ease the burden of tarmacking graduates with the rising rates of unemployment in the country.
