Kenyans have every right to be concerned about a presidency that includes Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, according to ODM leader Raila's spokesman Dennis Onyango.
Gachagua has a good chance of becoming the next Deputy President after taking over as running partner for DP William Ruto, who is a leader in the campaign.
According to Onyango, Gachagua's previous occupation as an administrator is frightening, particularly in a nation where such persons have been observed generating problems.
He points out that previous Minister Nicholas Biwott, like Gachagua, was a former District Officer, and that what transpired under his rule was wrong.
According to Onyango, everything happened under Biwott's reign, including detentions and killings, might resurface via Gachagua, and Kenyans should be extremely terrified of him.
"Kenyans were relieved when arap Moi succeeded Kenyatta. Everything was OK until a former DO named Biwott emerged and took control. Arrests and assassinations Disappearances. They started happening when Moi brought his Bible to church every Sunday. Former DOs should be avoided "he writes in a tweet
His worries come at a time when certain politicians, including Ruto loyalists, have already condemned Gachagua as overly autocratic and confrontational.
He has, however, refuted this, adding that if they win, he would not make things difficult for Ruto, which is one of his detractors' concerns.
Biwott worked as a South Imenti as Dictict Officer before entering politics.
Raila, Onyango's employer, is also vying to replace President Uhuru, and is widely regarded as the race's second primary candidate, alongside William Ruto.
