It is a democratic right of every Kenyan yo participate in election process by either vying for an elective seat or voting for your preferred candidate. 2022 is going to be an election year and that is why interested aspirants have declared their interest in presidency, governors, senators, women representatives, members of Parliament and members of county assemblies.
Below are the common requirements of vying for any elective seat by the Independent Electoral and boundaries commission;
1. Be a Kenya citizen;
2. Be a registered voter;
3. Belong to a political party or be an independent candidate;
4. Not be bankrupt;
5. Be of sound mind;
6. Hold no other public office than the one interested in;
7. Not be subject to imprisonment, six months to general elections date;
8. Have atleast a university degree from a recognized institution for governor and presidential aspirants.
