Hon Pius Kinuthia, a political leader from Murang'a County has revealed the political posts that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) rebel Members of Parliament who recently promised to work with the government will be rewarded in President William Ruto’s administration in 2027 incase he gets reelected.
According to the leader, who in the August 9th Polls unsuccessfully contested for the Murang'a Senatorial post on Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement party, the leaders will be appointed by President William Ruto either as Principal Secretaries in various State Department or as Chief Administrative Secretaries in various Ministries.
Also according to Pius Kinuthia, the rebel lawmakers might also be appointed and rewarded as Cabinet Secretaries in various Ministries or as Ambassadors of Kenya in various countries across the globe. But according to him, the gamble is risky since the dynamics of 2027 general elections might see President William Ruto not get elected.
"All these ODM rebel MPs have their eyes post 2027. And they will be in government, either as PS CAS ,ambassadors, or Ministers. In the event, Ruto is reelected. It is a risky gamble. Just like the way Mt. Kenya Jubilee MPs rebelled against Uhuru, and it paid off." stated Pius Kinuthia.
The leaders who rebelled against the ODM party are led by Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda. The team comprises of MPs Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Caroli Omondi (Suba-South), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem) Shakeel Shabir (Kisumu East), Paul Abuor (Rongo), Mark Nyamita (Uriri), Walter Owino (Awendo) and Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o (Langata).
