"Civic Deficiency" The Worst Thing That Was Witnessed Amongst Kenyans During The General Elections

The general election on August 9 exposed Kenya's deficient civic education system regarding voting issues.

Over a hundred thousand Kenyans awoke at an ungodly hour to stand in line for several hours before voting in the recently concluded contentious elections. But, unbeknownst to them, their desire to exercise their constitutional right by voting for new leaders required no effort on their part. They were not given this information.

This is due to the IEBC's final vote tally, which revealed that 113,614 Kenyans cast ballots but their votes were not counted. A rejected ballot, according to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, is one that was returned. This has caused alot of controversy in that this number is a huge number and can cause a significant shift in the overall percentage of votes.

Azimio la Umoja hope that all these matters will be solved at the Supreme court as they plan to present their petition soon.
