The supremacy battle for Mt Kenya by Deputy President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga intensified, as the two presidential aspirants traded barbs on who is likely to have a larger support base from the region in next year’s election.

Deputy President William Ruto has urged Kenyans to vet leaders and support a candidate with a clear development track record for the presidency in 2022 so as to accelerate the country’s economic growth.

National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has faulted the move by the Auditor General Nancy Gathungu to seek private firms to audit Kenya Power.

Muturi questioned why private audit firms have always given the parastatals a clean bill of health at a time when the cost of electricity was skyrocketing.
