As 2022 General elections inch closer and closer, political players are in last minute rushes to beat time and identify their respective political vehicles ahead of the polls.A crop of leaders that seem inconvenienced as per the current constitution are the governors serving their second and last terms.

Kenya's Constitution stipulates that a President and a Governor are only eligible to serve for only two consecutive terms of five years each in office. As per this stipulation, many political bigwigs will have anthill task in identifying new political paths to take so as to remain politically relevant in Kenya.

The following governors are the great casualties come 2022:

1.Hon.Ali Hassan Joho.

The Mombasa governor is the Deputy Party leader of ODM Party and is serving his last term in office.

2.Hon.Alfred Mutua.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader is also serving his second and last term as the Machakos Governor.

3.Hon.Wyclife Ambetsa Oparanya.

Oparanya is a co-deputy party leader of ODM alongside Hassan Joho.He is serving his second and final term as the governor of Kakamega county. He had also served as the Chairman of the Council of Governors.

4.Prof.Kivutha Kibwana.

The prominent Ukambani governor must also chart a new political path as his second and last term as Makueni governor is coming to an end.Kibwana is also the party leader of Muungano Party.

Apart from the above four prominent governors, the following is a list of some governors countrywide that are likely to experience the same fate:

5.Sospeter Ojaamong-Busia County.

6.Zachary Okoth Obado-Migori County.

7.Josephat Nanok-Turkana County.

8.Amason Jeffa Kingi-Kilifi County.

9.Salim Mvurya-Kwale County.

10.Martin Nyaga Wambora-Embu County.

11.Mwangi Wa Iria-Murang'a County.

12.Jackson Mandago-Uasin-Gishu County.

18.Samwel Tunai-Narok County.

19.Alex Tolgos-Elgeyo-Marakwet County.

20.Paul Chepkwony- Kericho County,name any.

It is interesting to see how the above bigwigs will meander politically and find their way back to the political limelight should they wish to do so.However, due to the fact that most of them are forces to reckon with, they are likely to play a pivotal role in the 2022 election matrix.
