Peter Munya's Statement that Could Take Ruto's Camp to the Drawing Board Ahead of Polls

Pioneer Meru county governor Peter Munya is one of the top leaders from Mount Kenya who could direct the region on who to vote for as the next president in the 2022 polls.

Speaking in Nyeri county during Raila Odinga's Azimio la Umoja campaigns, Peter Munya publicly admitted that it is only the ODM party leader Raila Odinga who will bring changes to this country if elected president.

He said that Raila has tremendous achievements in this country and will ensure he protects the constitution of Kenya since he is the who played a leading role establishing it in 2010.

He further told off the deputy president William Ruto and his team for calling names, the county bosses from the region who are opposed to his presidential bid adding that Kenya is a democracy and everyone has a right to support a candidate of their choice without being forced.

He also said that the mountain region region is determined to overwhelmingly elect Raila saying that since the 2018 handshake between president Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila, great things have happened including peace and security.

"Every time the mountain meets the lake great things happen. Jomo Kenyatta and Oginga Odinga worked together and Kenya got independence. Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta shook hands and now we have peace," Munya said.
