Kirinyaga County Governor, Anne Waiguru has finally decided to ditch the Jubilee Party and the Kieleweke faction to join the Chief Hustler DP Ruto and the UDA party. Her major political announcement has come at a time when their were allegations that she was planning to be Ruto's running mate in the 2022 elections. Waiguru was in the company of over 20 MCA's who have also decided to walk out of the Jubilee Party.
Waiguru has said that she will defend her gubernatorial seat in 2022 on UDA ticket. Waiguru's close ally who broke the news to the media said that the people on ground are just singing Ruto's song of the Hustler Narrative. She claimed that people want to associate themselves with Ruto.
The vocal ally told the media that their governor will today officially join UDA and end so many political questions people have been asking her. He added that Waiguru will now defend her gubernatorial seat come 2022 on the UDA party ticket and in a bid to continue serving her Kirinyaga people. He said that UDA is the party she will use to defend her seat because everyone on ground told her they wanted to be associated with Ruto.
The UDA Party made the defection public through its official Twitter account. Ruto is currently hosting the team at his Karen residence in Nairobi. Waiguru delivered a powerful message to Uhuru and the Kieleweke faction. In her statement she said that she cannot vote herself and that she is listening to voters who have advised her to join UDA. Kenyans reacted and some said that more are going to join the UDA Party.
