2022 politics has already taken center stage. Already Deputy President William Ruto has announced his interest in taking over from President Kenyatta. Others include Mombasa's Hassan Joho, and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka. However the latest in line is former UNCTAD Secretary General Mukhisa Kituyi who just arrived in the country today.
Later this evening, the former Minister of Trade in President Mwai Kibaki's government is interview on Citizen TV by Victoria Rubadiri and Jeff Koinange. One of the topics of discussion was that of corruption as the country is said to be supposedly losing 6 billion dollars a year.
When asked about graft and what he can do to tackle it, Kituyi not only says that he will fight corruption, but that he will punish those found culpable. He adds that he will give a decree that anybody involved in corruption no matter their background, they will take responsibility.
Well, Mukhisa is a smart person with a clear understanding of how economies work. His revelation on graft is a stun one. Do you think it is realistic to eliminate corruption in Kenya? Comment below.
