"I'm Happy You Didn't Organize Demos" Ruto Causes a Light Moment In Presence of CJ Koome

On Monday, December 5, President William Ruto attended the launch of the Administration of Justice in Kenya Annual Report. The president joined the chief justice Martha Koome and the Deputy Chief Justice, Philomena Mwilu. LSK president, Eric Theuri was also present.

While making his speech, the president caused a light moment after he took a swipe on the LSK president, Eric Theuri. He referred to case that Theuri had filed seeking to stop the vetting of PS's by parliament citing regional imbalance in the appointments. In that case, Theuri accused the president of sidelining some regions.

The president said that he was happy that Theuri did not call for demonstrations after he lost that case. The Head of State insisted that every has a right to justice and everyone is free to go to court.

"I can see my friend here Eric Theuri who the other day took me to court. I am happy that you did not organize demonstrations after you lost the case. Every person has a right to go to court and seek justice," alluded the president amid laughter from the attendees.

Ruto assured the judicial officers that his administration will continue to work interdependently with the judiciary so that Kenyans can have an easy access to justice.
