ODM Delegates Allegedly Left Stranded in Siaya After Attending Jimmy Wanjigi's Meeting on Saturday

Hundreds of ODM delegates were reportedly on Saturday left stranded in Siaya Town after they attended Presidential aspirant and businessman Jimmy Wanjigi's meeting.

According to a report by the People's Daily, the delegates found themselves with no options after the organizers of the meeting failed to facilitate their fare back home.

Some of the members who spoke with People's Daily claimed that Wanjigi had relied on fake coordinators who issued them with only Sh 500, with some claiming that they had used more than that to attend the function.

“I don’t know how I will go back home, I will have to look for an alternative to sleeping option in Siaya town because there is no adequate transport home,” Lilian Okoth from Rarieda said.

The delegates were forced to look for shelter with a number of them claiming that they will spend the night outside the buildings in Siaya Town as they did not have money.

The police were forced to intervene by lobbing tear gas after rowdy youths blocked Wanjigi's motorcade along the Kisumu Siaya Highway demanding their fair share.

The youths also threatened to burn the caps, adding that Wanjigi will have a hard time competing against Raila Odinga.
