The region is among those that make up the Rift Valley region and is considered a swing zone which can support any candidate basing on its wooing.
Lenku says that the region has settled on ODM leader Raila Odinga and will vote for him to the last man, saying that the Maasai is happy with his policies.
“I am not only here as a governor but as a representative of the Maa community and I will affirm our position that we support Raila’s 2022 State House bid,” the county boss and ex-Interior CS told The Standard at the Kasarani Stadium.
He added that the community believes that it is Raila with the ability to steer the region to higher economic heights while at the same time realizing the ambitions President Uhuru Kenyatta has for the country will not have realized by the time he retires.
“There are projects started by President Kenyatta in our region and it is his brother Raila that can complete them,” he further said.
He is among the governors who have thrown their weight behind Raila, who is expected to take his fifth shot at the top seat in the much awaited race.
But there also exists a group of leaders from the Maa community who are working with Ruto and who the DP seems to be depending on to give him the vote.
