President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy seem not to be in good terms as per the recent urterance from the head of the state. On Thursday while addressing Kenyans in Githurai, the President said that he will not hand over powers to a thief when his term come to an end in 2022. On Friday while addressing the crowd in Uthiru, President Uhuru dared his deputy to resign and that he should not be fighting his own government that he the second in command.
From his words to the deputy, most of Kenyan leaders have reacted. Some have supported the President while others have slammed him for using ambiguous words to his fellow leaders. Such cases have been arrising because of the support of the BBI. President Uhuru Kenyatta is supporting the BBI while his Deputy is against the BBI.
After all the dramas, Kirinyaga county Boss Hon. Anne Waiguru on Friday, 12th backed the President in supporting the BBI. Ann Waiguru was addressing members of the county assembly on matters concerning the Bulding Bridges Initiative.
While addressing the MCAs on the BBI matters, Hon. Waiguru urged all the MCAs to support the BBI and that it should be passed in the County Assembly. ''I hope we will be the first county in the region to pass the BBI amendment Bill.'' Waiguru said
Only three counties have so far passed the BBI. These are Kisumu County, Siaya County and Homa Bay County. The current constitution demands that at least 24 counties must support the Constitution ammendment bill before the mostion is taken in the Nationa Assembly then the referendum can be conducted.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and his handshake partner Raila Odinga are aiming at amending the constitution of 2010 before the general elections in 2022. On the other hand, DP Ruto demnds that if there is need to change the constitution then it should be changed after 2022 general elections.
