On Monday, President William Ruto was in Mukuru, Embakasi South Constituency, inspecting the ongoing housing projects there. He was with high-ranking county officials, like Esther Passaris, who is the Nairobi City County Woman Representative.
The president has made it quite clear that his administration is committed to ensuring that residents have access to good and affordable housing. In 2017, he and his former supervisor, President Uhuru Kenyatta, founded this organization.
Passaris, who was re-elected to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party in the August 9 general elections, hailed the president on Twitter and indicated that the majority of informal settlement residents would benefit from the project.
"William Ruto and I visited an ongoing affordable housing project in Mukuru, Embakasi South, along with other officials.
I would encourage and assist my legislative colleagues to make the housing project a high priority so that Kenyans can abandon informal settlements and transition to social housing."
