Early Win For Raila's Camp As Another Influential Political Figure Formely Joins Azimio

Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition party is among the key political formations in the country that locked horns in the recently concluded August ninth general elections. The outfit which had ODM party leader Raila Amolo Odinga as its presidential flagbearer, didn't have a smooth end as it was trounced by Kenya Kwańza Alliance under President William Samoei Ruto in what somehow can be described as a controversial August ninth presidential contest.

Despite some of its key lieutenants having defected to the rulling Coalition, Azimio is seemingly determined to remain intact with eyes firmly fixed on the forthcoming 2027 polls. Key Principals within the jumbo outfit haven't yet shown signs of deserting their course as they have embarked on rigorous and thorough check on the government of the day.

In what has emerged as an early win to the Raila-led outfit ahead of the 2027 polls, former Cabinet Secretary, Eugene Wamalwa, has formerly joined the Azimio bandwagon.

Wamalwa who was in the run up to August ninth general elections, was allied to Azimio, wasn't formerly incorporated into the ship owing to his position as a government official then. But now with his eyes on the ball, Wamalwa has officially joined Azimio as another key Principal through the Democratic Alliance Party of Kenya (DAP-K). The party is led by former Kanduyi Member of Parliament Wafula Wanyonyi but was associated with Wamalwa.

Wamalwa thanked Azimio principals - Raila Amolo Odinga, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and Martha Karua for formerly welcoming him to Azimio and endorsing DAP-K' s Wafula Wamunyinyi as the Coalition's candidate for the Bungoma Senatorial by-elections.

Wamalwa is among the Cabinet Secretaries who defied all odds in the run up to August ninth polls to drum up support for Uhuru Kenyatta's prefferd heir, Raila Odinga.
