Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday maintained that he is best suited to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 so that he can continue their development agenda. The DP spoke during the second day of his Meru tour in Igembe and Tigania areas as he sought to consolidate support in the populous county.

Speaking in Meru, Ruto said all his political rivals are dishonest leaders who can’t be entrusted with the country’s leadership. He described Odinga as ‘thankless to his friends’, saying the ODM leader turned against him and President Uhuru Kenyatta after the 2007 elections.
