Residents of Kiagu Ward are getting ready to head into the ballot to choose their next Ward representative after months of no representation in the County Assembly.
Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has officially disqualified Gatundu South Constituency MP Moses Kuria as well as Chama Cha Kazi candidate in the upcoming by-election.
The Commission has disqualified Mr. Milton Mwenda of Chama Cha Kazi party and Nathan Gitonga of National Ordinary People Empowerment Union party from contesting in the Kiagu Ward By-election.
IEBC has made the decision on grounds that the two candidates didn't resign from public office within 7 days after the declaration of vacancy of the aforementioned ward.
Gatundu South Constituency MP Moses Kutia who is the PEP party leader has broken his silence on the disqualification of his candidate in the Kiagu Ward By-election, stating that the will of the people shall prevail.
"No longer how it takes, the will of the people shall prevail," Moses Kuria said.
