Weeks after Wetangula 's election, plans to replace him with another person were announced

Moses Wetang'ula, speaker of the National Assembly. A different person will take his position.

Following his election into the influential position and subsequent resignation as the elected senator for Bungoma county, plans have now been made to replace National Assembly Speaker Hon. Moses Wetang'ula.

According to a statement from the head of the independent electoral and boundaries commission (IEBC), Hon. Wafula Chebukati, Mr. Wetang'ula will be succeeded by another candidate at a by-election on December 8 of this year.

This implies that Bungoma county will soon have a new senator filling the slot that has been vacant for the past month or so due to Wetang'ula's decision to retire and run for speaker of the national house against previous speaker Kenneth Marende.

Following Moses Wetangula's election as National Assembly Speaker, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) said a by-election for the Bungoma Senatorial seat would take place on December 8, 2022, according to a local daily.
