Francis Atwoli Leaves This Important Message To Kenyans Days After Ruto Was Declared President-Elect

Francis Atwoli, the secretary general of COTU, asked Kenyans on Friday to respect the peace even as the Supreme Court is considering a case challenging the validity of the presidential election results.

He acknowledged that throughout the election season, Kenyans supported peace. "Nowhere else in the world has an election been held as peacefully as Kenya. And I want you to maintain that tranquility," he said.

He commended the government and election participants for making sure the procedure went well. "The secret is tolerance. I thus implore Kenyans to follow the law, just as we implored Raila Odinga and he agreed as we await the court's ruling," he said.

"We will accept the decision, whatever it may be. Let's keep the peace until then. The importance of peace "said he.

He asked employees to carry out their tasks and make progress toward their interests and objectives. He pledged to keep advocating for employees and speaking out in public, reiterating that this does not imply that he despises anyone.
