Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko was today released by Kiambu Law Courts on a cash bail of Ksh 300 000 with surety of the same amount. He denied both charges of assault and terror charges.
Earlier on the former governor was admitted at Nairobi Hospital with stomach complications. Drama ensued his release from hospital as anti terror police collected him from the hospital.
At the court, Sonko was seen in company of a nurse and a doctor who sandwiched him during the court proceedings.
Yesterday Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Mutula Kilonzo Junior visited the governor at Gigiri police station.
It is claimed that this meeting is what had resulted to the release of the former governor from jail as police had sort thirty more days so as to finish their investigations.
From the photos posted by blogger Abraham Mutai, Senator Mutula Kilonzo who is an astute and respected Lawyer in the country is seen taking notes while Sonko narrates his ordeal. Kalonzo Musyoka as seen talking to the governor.
During the one year remembrance of Former President Daniel Arap Moi, Kalonzo requested the preaident to let Sonko from jail. Kalonzo promised the president that he will mentor Sonko when he gets out of jail.
